Web Marketing - 4 Ways to Drive More Traffic to Your (rss blogs) Blog

By Jackie Lee

As a blog owner you probably think the most important job you have is to provide unique quality content. That’s important but your content means nothing if no one ever reads it.

Driving traffic to your blog is the most important thing you can do to make sure your site is a success. If no one reads your blog there’s no way for you to make money from the site.

Let’s cover 4 ways to drive traffic that involve social networking.

Forums

This is one of the most basic ideas to drive traffic to your site, luckily it’s also works really well.

Find a related forum by searching for forum + your niche. This should bring up a good list of places people are talking about your topic.

Go to the site, fill in a simple signature that includes your site in a link using keyword anchor text.

Now go into community and contribute. That means get into conversation, ask questions, answer questions. Each time you contribute to the forum you signature will show at the bottom of your post, giving you a backlink to your site, as well as community members a way to check out your site.

Blog Directories

Two of the biggest blog directories are blogcatalog and mybloglog. These sites are basically directories of blogs. You can go and add your blog, in fact, you can add as many blogs as you have.

To get the best return on this type of site you need to get involved in the community aspect of these sites. Look at other blogs, comment on other people’s pages, add friends to your profile. The more you put yourself out there in these communities the more people will stop by your page, and your blog.

Stumble Upon

Stumble Upon is basically a bookmarking site. This site is very powerful however because of the way it is built. You can quickly and easily gain a LOT of traffic by using Stumble Upon.

This site was not created to market your site, so remember that when you are stumbling. Make sure you take some time to stumble through other people’s sites as well. Id’ say it is wise to stumble at least 5 pages for every one of your pages you give the thumbs up to.

Claim Your Blog at Technorati

Technorati is a power house of a site. It is a large index of blogs. People go there to find blogs about a specific topic. Often times the tag pages from technorati will show up in the Google search results for any given keyword.

It’s a pretty simple process, just go in and claim your blog. You will be asked to put a bit of code on your site, the instructions are given when you claim your blog.

Once your blog has been claimed you will begin to gain status in the community by driving traffic to your blog. The higher your technorati score the better, and the more people who will see your blog.

There are so many ways you can drive traffic to your blog. If you are using web marketing to sell products or make money you are going to have to know how to drive traffic to your site.

If you take action on any one of these techniques on a consistent basis you will begin to see an increase in your traffic levels. With more traffic generally comes more sales.

Stop by to learn more about web marketing and how to drive traffic to your site. Traffic is a key web marketing strategy and something you will have to do to make money online.

Squidoo or Blogging: What’s Best for Affiliate Marketing?
By Ron Passfield

I first started to really take notice of Squidoo when my Squidoo lens displaced my blog from the number one position on Google for its keyword. The blog was 2 years old and had held the number one position for at least twelve months; the Squidoo lens was about six weeks old.

However, I very quickly discovered that it is not a case of “Squidoo or blogging” but rather “Squidoo and blogging and…”

My affiliate marketing strategy now is to use Squidoo as the hub of a marketing wheel with the spokes being other marketing strategies such as blogging, article marketing, Twitter, social bookmarking and Facebook.

Why use Squidoo as your marketing hub? There are seven (7) good reasons:

1. You can incorporate the RSS feed from your blog into your Squidoo lenses so that when you update your blog, your relevant lenses get updated.

2. Squidoo lenses can accommodate the RSS feed from your articles in article directories or the feed from other writers’ articles.

3. The new Twitter widget will automatically update the Twitter feed (tweets) in your Squidoo lens whenever you create a Twitter post.

4. You can set up your Squidoo profile to automatically generate a post in Twitter whenever you update any of your lenses.

5. You can embed your own YouTube videos in your Squidoo lenses to attract traffic to your blog or website (you can also use the the YouTube module on Squidoo to incorporate other videos of your choice).

6. Squidoo provides a Flickr module that enables you to incorporate your Flickr photos into relevant lenses.

7. You can automatically update your Facebook page with your Twitter posts about your new or updated Squidoo lens.

It is no longer effective or efficient to adopt a single affiliate marketing strategy. You can get a better return for your efforts if you think in terms of integrating different approaches so that they work together to provide a consistent and widespread message about your affiliate products and services.

Squidoo provides the perfect platform to create the marketing hub that will integrate your other approaches to affiliate marketing. Much of this integration is done automatically for you.

In this era of social marketing it is critical that you develop an affiliate marketing strategy that builds on, and contributes to, the connectivity and interactivity that are the hallmarks of Web 2.0 technologies. Squidoo was designed by an internet marketer, Seth Godin, as the social networking platform to facilitate this connection and interaction.

Through Squidoo, you can leverage your writing and marketing efforts and create a marketing synergy that can accelerate your affiliate marketing results.

Blogging Is Changing the World Today
By Musa Aykac

Today the internet is filled with bloggers that create websites called blogs that are made to post articles on in a chronological, public diary format. The internet is hungry for information and a blog gives a person a chance to contribute their opinions, perspectives and stories to large audiences.

It is easy to create a free weblog or blog for short. There are free blog platforms like Wordpress and Blogger where blogs are hosted and are published from. The free part isn’t the only desirable part about blogs. The format makes it easy to create a website with content that updates regularly. This helps with the visibility of the blog in search engines as they can be indexed quickly and can build page strength so that the blog ranks higher when searched for.

With high visibility a blogger or a person that publishes on blogs can create stories for the viewing public. It is helpful for aspiring writers and people that like to express themselves or like to share their experiences or stories. It is also helpful for business to create blogs that are profitable, for friends to keep in touch with their posts and to inform people about news and new things.

With advancements in technology it is possible to run a blog like a website. You can add different graphics and different looks to the blog. Blog posts can be in different areas on the page, navigation links and content links can be added also.

Blogging can be profitable for everybody by selling products or services with text links or image links. Blogs can sell different types of products that are interesting to the blog’s audience. With a large audience and profitable links a blog can make a lot of money.

The part of a blog that makes the blog a success is its content. There are so many web surfers and internet searchers out there that want something to read. Content that is different and interesting. The search engines know this and are favoring new original content in their search results. It is good for their business. If it is easy to find new content on a search engine, more people with use that search engine. Bloggers benefit from this concept a lot.

Blogging is becoming the platform of choice for internet contributors. Sharing information and reaching large audiences with blogs is something that is growing and is a big part of the internet today.
